Michael Popejoy

  • President / Founder
  • Senior Adjuster

Michael Popejoy is the founder and President of Mile High Adjusters, LLC. Mike has extensive experience in the construction and land development fields for over thirty years. While owning and operating two additional businesses, Mike purchased and refurbished over thirty-five single family homes and built forty-two new homes in California and Colorado. Among other accomplishments, has owned and operated a custom home building company throughout the 1990s and built affordable housing in the Denver area for fifteen years.

 

As the construction market declined in recent years, Mike reinvented himself in the independent adjusting field. He became a licensed claims adjuster and owner of an adjuster training and staffing firm. As a former United States Marine, Mike is driven to run Mile High Adjusters with incredible respect and honor. He is available at the office full time and always strives to assist his adjusters and clients with all their needs. Mike appreciates every aspect of this field and loves knowing that he is helping people get back on their feet after an unexpected occurrence, accident, or catastrophe.

Mike likes to oversubscribe to insurance magazines and obsessively check storm and weather websites. He believes in no regrets and always tries to live life to the fullest. Mike enjoys spending time with his family, riding his Harley, and traveling across the country.


  

Kent Rapp, MBA, CPCU, AIC

  • Director of Education
  • Lead Instructor
  • Independent Adjuster 

Kent Rapp is currently the Director of Education and the Lead Instructor at Mile High Adjusters, LLC. Kent is a licensed All-Lines adjuster. He was a staff adjuster and has 25 years of automobile and fire claims experience with State Farm Insurance Company. Kent handled automobile claims involving property damage, negligence/liability analysis, personal/bodily injury, litigation, and was an inter company arbitrator for Arbitration Forums handling disputed liability automobile claims for signatory insurance carriers. Kent also has experience handling residential and commercial property claims involving the perils of fire, water, lightning, vehicle, theft, vandalism, tornado, hail/wind, and handling field and in-office catastrophe claims. He has extensive experience working with automobile body repair shops, general contractors, trade sub-contractors, water/fire/smoke mitigation contractors, asbestos abatement contractors, mold remediation contractors, engineers, and attorneys.

Kent retired from State Farm Insurance Company in May 2016. In February 2017, he began instructing at Mile High Adjusters, LLC.  The course curriculum he teaches includes: Texas All-Lines Pre-Adjuster Licensing, Complete Property & Automobile Adjusters Training, Inside File Examiner, Intermediate/Advanced Xactimate, and Property & Automobile Adjuster Boot Camps. Kent is Xactimate Level 3 certified and has completed the Automobile Estimatics course at the Vale National Training Center in Arlington, TX. 

 Kent enjoys the insurance industry and is passionate about teaching, training, and mentoring new adjusters who are looking to start a new career path of becoming an independent adjuster.  He is also very passionate about learning, pursuing continuing education, and being self-motivated. Finally, he has a desire to want to help, educate, and serve people during their training at Mile High Adjusters and enjoys assisting policyholders throughout the insurance claims process.   

 


   

Dane Poulsen, AIC, CPCU, ARM

  •  Training Instructor

Dane brings over 25 years of property restoration and property claims experience to his role of Training Instructor at Mile High. He started his career as a fire and water damage restoration technician, where he was able to roll up his sleeves and learn the business of bringing residences and businesses back to life.

After graduating college, he went to work for a major insurance carrier where he spent almost 20 years handling all types of claims, both in the office and in the field. He spent most of this time as a field catastrophe claim adjuster, handling hail damage, tornadoes, wildfires, floods, earthquakes, wind damage, and many other types of claims. Dane also spent several years as a claims quality control        re-inspector which allowed him to review countless claims and understand what it takes to be a quality claims adjuster.

Dane has completed insurance designations for Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter, Associate in Claims, Associate in Personal Insurance, and Associate in Risk Management.

Dane is excited to be a part of Mile High Adjusters. He has a passion for teaching and feels that the best way to share the knowledge that others have so generously shared with him is to pass it on.

 

During his free time, Dane enjoys riding his bicycles, hiking with his wife, and reading history books. 


 

 Stephanie Poole

  • Claims Manager

Stephanie brings a vast knowledge of the Real Estate industry where she spent most of her career life. As the real estate market rapidly began its decline, Stephanie ventured a new career in internal logistics for big box retailers.

As the Claims Manager, Stephanie is the backbone of Mile High Adjusters. Among her many undertakings, she provides office services by implementing procedures, policies, and monitoring administrative projects. In the forefront of operations, she has taken the initiative to work closely with new and senior adjusters to provide them with information, and educational and experiential growth opportunities.

The highlight of Stephanie's day is spending time with family and celebrating the little things in life.


 

Virgie Popejoy

  • Senior Office Manager

Virgie Popejoy has a comprehensive background in operations and team leadership. At Mile High Adjusters she manages a full range of administrative and operational duties and a wide variety of areas including human resources, accounting, and claims management.

 Prior to her multi-faceted role with Mile High Adjusters, she had a well-rounded career ranging from logistics with experience with quality assurance and systems coordination. Her analytical skills and gentle demeanor bring balance and respect to whichever roll she endeavors.

Virgie relishes in spending time wrangling her grandchildren and relaxing with her family.
